Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI Clearance
  • Three (3) years' experience as a Technical Writer
  • Must have editorial experience with excellent knowledge of correct English usage, spelling, and punctuation
  • Demonstrated excellent copy-editing and proofreading skills
  • Digital publishing applications experience to include, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Adobe Acrobat Professional, and others as needed
  • Ability to manage time and project tasks effectively to meet deadlines, communicating about project status along the way
  • Initiative and assertiveness to start a document from scratch, gathering the content, style/format guidelines, people, and resources necessary to complete the document with excellence
  • An eye for detail, with keen observation skills and a commitment to carefully checking over the work of self and others to deliver documents of consistent quality
  • People skills to develop a good working relationship with the customer, listening attentively to their feedback and concerns so changing requirements can be addressed in future documents

Desired Skills

  • Familiarity with tactical data links to include Link 16 and IBS
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, cross-check and edit intelligence products, as required, to ensure accuracy and compliance with associated Intelligence Community guidance
  • Familiarity with Security Classification Guides (SCG) and Classification Management Tool (CMT) and general EDT and FDT publication requirements
  • Proactive team player with exceptional problem solving, communication, analytical, and technical skills supporting the ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously
  • DoD experience desired. Strong configuration management skills

Description

The Technical Writer will be an embedded team member on an operational team, primarily supporting the project with writing/editing of documentation, publications, procedures, and guidelines.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Collecting and documenting team accomplishments, customer reports, administrative tasks, and fulfilling contractual requirements for a variety of complex operations
  • Coordinating with customers on a daily basis to identify tasking, organize and lead efforts to elicit technical SME input, and develop the documentation
  • Supporting various documents, white papers, proposal development, or other technical papers as needed
  • Maintaining technical documenting and publications
  • Managing the documentation workflow
  • Being the primary conduit between the Senior Program Manager and multiple task leads ensuring all contractual documentation is delivered within deadlines (WARs, monthly reports, trip reports, etc.)
