Requirements

  • Must be active duty military and eligible to participate in DoD SkillBridge Program
  • Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance
  • Experience as an Naval Engineering Technician providing technical support in the design, development production and testing of shipboard systems or an equivalent mix of education and experience

Desired Skills

  • Must possess a CompTIA Security+ certification or be willing to obtain this certification within 6 months of employment
  • Must possess a System Administrator certification in Windows or Linux or be willing to obtain this certification within 6 months of employment

Description

  • Assists in conducting installations, System Operational Verification Testing (SOVT), and provides onsite and remote onboard technical troubleshooting support to designated shipboard platforms
  • Performs a variety of complex technical functions in support of the Cryptologic Carry-On Program (CCOP) activity such as design, test, checkout, modification, fabrication, and assembly of electronic systems
  • Establishes procedures for the maintenance of systems, laboratory equipment and facilities
  • Performs on-site installation, troubleshooting, and testing of CCOP products and equipment
  • Provides technical support to customers on operational or maintenance aspects of system equipment
  • Assists in training to include junior level electronics technicians, and support staff to perform general fabrication, assembly, configuration, test and evaluation, and documentation tasks
  • Establishes procedures for the maintenance of laboratory facilities and equipment including cable diagrams, equipment schematics, and configurations to support various CCOP system arrangements
  • Trains personnel to operate, troubleshoot, and maintain equipment
  • Provides written and/or oral status updates of current installations as well as support provided to Atlantic Fleet platforms to supervisor and In-Service Engineering Activity (ISEA) personnel
  • Provides technical distance and on-site support to deployed U.S. Navy units
