Description

  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to resolve COMSEC related issues, ensuring customer requirements align with compliance standards
  • Supporting the waveforms project officer with EKMS/KMI services across the Ground Radios portfolio, including implementing threat mitigation practices, coordinating with vendors, and executing tasks that advance crypto modernization efforts
  • Training personnel in COMSEC procedures and operation of associated equipment, as required
  • Providing SME support through gap analysis of tactical and strategic cryptographic systems, identifying vulnerabilities and end of life algorithms in accordance with NSA guidance
  • Reviewing and analyzing KMI COMSEC documentation, operations, and practices within the Ground Radios Project and recommending process improvements
  • Assisting with research, evaluation, and implementation of enterprise network solutions and enhancements to support mission and business objectives
  • Delivering analysis and data to support capability gap identification and vulnerability assessments, including inputs addressing transitions to updated encryption devices, processes, and algorithms

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree and five years relevant experience or a HS Diploma/GED with seven years relevant experience
  • Formal training in a COMSEC related MOS including 0621, 0629, 0681, 0699, 25C, 25N, 25S or formal COMSEC training including USMC Security Manager Resident Course, Army Management Client Course or equivalent training
  • Knowledge of COMSEC equipment, keying material processes, and EKMS/KMI
  • Knowledge of encryption algorithms including IPSEC, AES, GRE, IKE, MD5, SHA, and 3DES
  • Experience with strategic level DoD and NSA Security policies and procedures
  • Experience with EKMS/KMI COMSEC Documentation language
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities, security principles, and risk management processes
  • Experience with and an understanding of controlling authority roles and responsibilities and equipment account roles and responsibilities
  • Experience with and an understanding of cryptographic key short title functions and usage within integrated, inline and edge-type encryption devices and components
