Description

The Cyber Security Engineer will work with the Combat Craft Team to perform complex cybersecurity engineering tasks for the customer. The Cyber Security Engineer will serve in roles regarding System Administrator, Information Assurance, Engineering Development Model maintainer while supporting Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC).

  • Providing cyber security support to all engineering and manufacturing development processes through developmental and operational testing phases to include assessing, documenting, and refining cyber security requirements
  • Utilizing the various Department of Defense and USSOCOM cyber security management tools (eMass, XACTA, Service Now) and standards
  • Providing cyber security support to Combatant Craft security packages, including developing and maintaining System Security Plans (SSP); the processing and management of Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVA) and related Plan of Action and Milestones (POAM); and documentation support required for Authority to Operate (ATO) authorizations and ATO re-authorizations
  • Acquiring and maintaining multiple classified accounts 
  • Performing or reviewing technical security assessments of computing environments identifying points of vulnerability, non-compliance with established Information Assurance (IA) standards and regulations, and recommend mitigation strategies
  • Providing Certification and Accreditation (C&A) documentation, providing feedback on completeness and 
  • compliance of its content
  • Assisting architects and system developers in the identification and implementation of appropriate information security functionality to ensure uniform application of cross-agency security policies and enterprise solutions
  • Researching and recommending security solutions and evaluate the vulnerabilities and security of network solutions
  • Providing cyber security support to include overseeing the development and maintenance of a system’s cybersecurity solutions; overseeing cyber security testing to assess security controls and record compliance; performing vulnerability-level risk assessments; enforcing security control implementation and testing; and any additional duties pertaining to cyber security
  • Maintaining the engineering development model for the next generation combatant craft
  • Assisting in Networking design and integration
  • Working with Virtualization technologies running on small form factor computers

Requirements

  • BS in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent
  • Five (5) years' experience as a Cyber Security Engineer/Analyst
  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • Experience with Networking
  • Experience with Cyber Security
  • Experience with Virtualization (Virtual Machines)
  • Experience with Lab Managment of Engineering Development Models 
  • Must have Security+ certification or be able to obtain within 90 days of start
