Sr Field Service Engineer

• Advising on data networks, navigation systems, acoustics, acoustic data processing subsystem, and towed array systems
• Providing training on navigation systems, acoustic data processing subsystem, and towed array systems to J-AOS personnel
• Submitting required reports in accordance with the SURTASS SOP, and other directives
• Serving as a liaison with the Japanese Maritime Self Defense Force (JMSDF), Kure Repair and Supply Facility (K-RSF), and the Kure Array Maintenance Facility (AMF), in conjunction with Commander Naval Forces Japan (CNFJ), to help resolve repair and supply issues

• Associate's degree in computer science, electronics technology, or be a graduate of US Navy electronics “C” school or equivalent civilian electronics technical school; Curriculum must have dealt directly with the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of:
  • VME computers, digital computers, microprocessors or peripheral/interface equipment, networks, communications system, navigation system and/or sonar system
• Must have experience as a SURTASS O&M Technician crew member
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification required within 12 months
• Fluent in speaking, writing, and reading Japanese

SRC IS A CONTRACTOR FOR THE U.S. GOVERNMENT, THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE U.S. CITIZENSHIP AS WELL AS, A U.S. GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE SECRET LEVEL

• Requires travel/underway periods of up to 120 days at a time
