Salary Statement

Estimated Starting Salary Range: USD $96,600.00/Yr. - USD $160,850.00/Yr. Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.

Description

  • Preparing, implementing, and ensuring compliance with cybersecurity policy, to include assessment and authorization requirements
  • Planning, implementing, upgrading, and/or monitoring cybersecurity measures to improve cyber defense and maintaining a cyber-resilient network
  • Assessing cybersecurity vulnerabilities for risks and proposing and implementing remediation actions or risk mitigation strategies
  • Ensuring appropriate security controls are in place that will safeguard digital files and electronic infrastructure
  • Responding to computer security breaches to re-establish protections and making required reports
  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining secure systems that align with established security policies and frameworks
  • Conducting comprehensive vulnerability assessments, developing and executing risk mitigation strategies, and ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive data

Requirements

  • Master's degree in cybersecurity, computer, electrical, or electronics engineering, or mathematics with a concentration in computer science or equivalent
  • 10 years of professional experience with cybersecurity engineering 

  • Experience in areas such as configuration management, software quality assurance, and network security
  • The ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams, interpret complex technical requirements, and communicate security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences is essential
  • A thorough understanding of Department of Defense (DoD) cybersecurity policies and directives, including compliance with information assurance and risk management framework requirements
  • A strong foundation in systems engineering principles, coupled with a deep understanding of cybersecurity best practices
  • The ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams, interpret complex technical requirements, and communicate security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences is essential

Desired Skills

  • Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining secure systems within a DoD environment is essential, including familiarity with DoD system categorization and authorization processes

  • Expertise in securing complex communication systems, particularly those operating within tactical or military-specific domains
  • Experience with software defined radio (SDR) technology, information assurance (IA) practices related to military communications, and government protection processes for critical program information is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of National Security Agency (NSA) requirements and processes is a significant advantage
  • Familiarity with government security standards, risk management frameworks, and secure software development lifecycles is highly desirable
  • Information Assurance Management (IAM) or Information Assurance Technical (IAT) or Information Assurance System Architect and Engineer (IASAE) Level I (position-based) per DoD 8570.1M

Clearance Information

SRC IS A CONTRACTOR FOR THE U.S. GOVERNMENT. THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE U.S. CITIZENSHIP AS WELL AS A U.S. GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE TOP SECRET / SCI LEVEL

  • Minimal CONUS travel may be required
