Description

This position directly supports the Acting Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the DoD Test Resource Management Center (TRMC). 

 

The position requirements include:

  • Preparing for, capturing notes and due outs, and maintaining a system for tracking congressional engagements
  • Maintaining awareness of congressional interest areas, geographic location of test range assets mapped to state and congressional district, and stakeholder interests
  • Maintaining awareness of developments in defense and political news that could have an impact on DoD budget or operations
  • Assisting in the development of reports and briefs for senior leaders (to include gaining knowledge of the DoD style guide and preparing action memos, congressional correspondence, and coordination sheets)

Requirements

  • 2+ years as a Legislative Liaison at DoD or other Federal Department, in a Congressional office, or in a Congressional Affairs role
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Excellent communication, writing, and organization skills
  • Ability to track progress of many simultaneous projects
  • Ability to work successfully in a collaborative environment
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance

Desired Skills

  • Proficient in using Microsoft 365 tools accessed through the Microsoft Teams interface, including Microsoft Planner
  • Ability to quickly learn new technology skills to improve system for tracking congressional engagements
  • Ability to network and form relationships across the DoD to be effective in role
  • Active Secret Clearance is strongly preferred

SRC IS A CONTRACTOR FOR THE U.S. GOVERNMENT, THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE U.S. CITIZENSHIP AS WELL AS, A U.S. GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE SECRET LEVEL
