Salary Statement

Estimated Starting Salary Range: USD $115,000.00/Yr. - USD $191,650.00/Yr. Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.

Description

SRC is searching for a well-rounded Network Engineer with experience configuring, maintaining, and implementing technologies on Juniper/JUNOS suite of Networking devices to support sustainment and modernization of North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and United States Northern Command (USNORTHCOM) systems. These systems consist of an on-premises Nutanix Hyper-Converged Private Cloud utilizing VMware ESXi Hypervisor and associated products, with future migration to Nutanix's native Hypervisor. The Private Cloud hosts NORAD and USNORTHCOM Mission Applications and Web

 

Services including the Situational Awareness Geospatial Enterprise (SAGE) and Air Event Information Sharing Service (A/EISS) applications, as well as the Global Command and Control System-Joint (GCCS-J) Program of Record (PoR) Systems and Information Technology (IT) infrastructure including Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers. Sustainment of NORAD and USNORTHCOM systems will be conducted at the government's facilities in Colorado Springs, CO.

  • Maintaining and modernizing Juniper Networking Devices and associated networks
  • Engineering and Integrating emerging technologies with legacy systems to deliver enhanced capabilities to the customer, and assisting in testing those capabilities within VLAN separated environments
  • Delivering integrated technology solutions to O - M contractor team for full lifecycle management to meet N-NC requirements
  • Engaging individually and as part of the NetOps Team with planning, configuration, and implementation of technical requirements on the latest Cisco devices
  • Understanding of Routing Protocols e.g. BGP and OSPF, Switching protocols (e.g. LACP, Spanning Tree, VLAN) and experience with EVPN-VXLAN, or other VXLAN protocols is a plus
  • Originating, updating, and deploying documentation for procedures and equipment as needed for the mission area
  • Translating USNORTHCOM/J3 - J6 user capability requests into requirements and obtain Government approval for change management through Configuration Control Board (CCB)
  • Providing technical leadership to project activities to ensure solutions are being implemented per approved design
  • Establishing strong relationships with key leaders from other teams and demonstrating credibility, empathy and expertise on business and technical issues
  • Translating business goals into appropriate strategies and technical requirements
  • Developing network solutions that can be easily tailored to COTS and GOTS systems
  • Creating and modifying network configurations and technical documentation
  • Translating end user requirements description through the ultimate deployment of a product into the production environment

Requirements

  • 10-15 years of network engineering with commensurate Information Assurance Technician (IAT)/Information Assurance Manager (IAM) Level 3 certification in accordance with DoD 8570 (e.g. CISSP)
  • 10+ years of experience administering and engineering Multi-Vendor Networks (e.g. Juniper/JUNOS devices and Cisco Devices)
  • 3-5 Years direct experience at NORAD - USNORTHCOM (N-NC) supporting network engineering for the J6
  • Directorate network devices including Cisco and/or Juniper in a Spine and Leaf topology
  • Masters Degree in Engineering with Juniper Networks Certified Internet Associate (JNCIA) and Certified
  • Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) Security Architect (CCSA) certifications

Desired Skills

  • 5+ years of experience using Microsoft Visio for network architecture design
  • 3+ years of network design experience with load balancing and high availability systems
  • Fundamental knowledge of applications based on Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) such as Security Onion and Adaptive Security Device Manager (ASDM)
  • Fundamental understanding of Nutanix-based hardware and network virtualization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with web application architectures and their required ports and protocols
  • Ability to track, recommend, and implement resolutions to issues
  • Ability to build good relationships with peers, business partners, and clients
  • Experience required with planning, design and implementation of networked systems, to include configuration management, upgrades and troubleshooting of network issues
  • Cloud technologies, AWS GovCloud, PostgreSQL Databases
  • Experience with network analysis applications (e.g. Sniffer, Wireshark, Microsoft Network Monitor)
  • Experience with network security hardware such as Cisco ASA, Barracuda NextGen Firewall, SonicWall TZ, Splunk, SolarWinds Log - Event Manager, Bro Network Security Monitor
  • Experience with performing engineering services to support accreditation for software running on Cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Commercial Cloud Services (C2S)
  • Must be able to work collaboratively within a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary team. Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to thrive in a diverse, fast-paced environment
  • Experience installing, configuring and testing various network devices

Clearance Information

SRC IS A CONTRACTOR FOR THE U.S. GOVERNMENT. THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE U.S. CITIZENSHIP AS WELL AS A U.S. GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE TOP SECRET / SCI LEVEL
