Description

  • Identifies, defines, analyzes, and generates complex system requirements, specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility for Radar systems.   These artifacts will be used for test conduction, coordination of systems and analyses, proposal submittal, and performance of applied research and development in one or more of the following areas:
    • Radar systems requirements generation
    • Radar hardware development
    • Radar design and development
    • Radar systems integration and testing
  • Develops, documents, and implements solutions to complex technical problems associated with the analysis, design, development, operation, and/or modification of Radar and RF engineering products and services. Researches, analyzes, and conducts equipment (hardware/software) design and development, system analyses, process studies, research investigations, and system compatibility analyses for complex technical problems to include a subset of the following technical areas:
    • Radio wave propagation
    • Digital signal processing
    • RF and/or digital hardware design and integration
    • Threat RF systems exploitation
    • Waveform development and modeling
    • Electronic Warfare systems
  • Coordinates design of subsystems and integration of subsystems into a complete product.
  • Conducts independent technical investigations of system design.
  • Establishes, develops, and maintains an effective working interface and coordination/exchange of technical information among multi-disciplined engineering groups, subcontractors, and/or the customer. Researches, prepares, and delivers complex technical presentations to high-level management and/or the customer.
  • Provides functional and technical guidance to less experienced engineers in all aspects of Radar and RF engineering projects. Organizes and leads assigned sections of major program reviews, design reviews, and proposals.
  • Additional responsibilities will vary based on specific areas of RF expertise to include some of the following tasks:
    • Threat systems analysis
    • Model development to match intelligence assessments, including waveform scheduling, correlation/tracking and signal processing
    • RF signals processing
    • RF algorithms / logic
    • Antenna design and analysis
    • Target tracking

Requirements

  • This job requires a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and five or more years of work related experience
  • The primary or most necessary skills required for this job are analytical skills. Other important skills include communication, leadership and problem solving skills, and short-term and long-term planning skills
  • Proficiency in the one or more of the following toolsets:
    • Experience with root cause analysis of RF systems and interoperability
    • Knowledge of sensor signal processing, signal detection, probability & statistics
    • Experience integrating sensor, shooter, and command and control systems
    • Knowledge of sensor array processing methods, antennas, and propagation
